Meine Erfolgsgeschichte als „Marke“ begann mit meinem Eintritt in das englische Business-Netzwerk Ecademy (im August 2011).
Ich dankte den Gründern für ihre wundervolle Arbeit und berichtete über die Einführung eines neuen Rankings auf der Plattform.
Die Presseerklärung war ein sensationeller Erfolg, und die Mitglieder der Plattform, sowie die Gründer, waren hellauf begeistert.

New statistics on ecademy by a new scoring system
On Monday, 5th September 2011, a new milestone in the history of the company ecademy was set.
William Buist, Director of Abelard Management Services Ltd and Chairman of the BlackStars Club within the Ecademy Business Network has developed a new scoring system for ecademy.
Each ecademy member has from now on got a sort of counter in the head of his profile.
How does this scoring system function?
The scoring system is based on 20 different factors and finds its output in this table. The score table can be sorted by country and by one of the top 250 most used tags.
Why had this scoring system been developed?
It was developed to support social business working and to help the ecademy members to better understand the result and effect of their activity and engagement on ecademy and on other networks.
What is ecademy?
Ecademy is a social business network with the accent on the word business. This network was founded in 1998 by Penny Power. Together with her husband Thomas Power (chairman) she leads this network and brought it to what it is today.
On her website Penny Power describes her way in ecademy like this:

Penny Power and Thomas Power are very much appreciated for their efforts in ecademy and in the world.
Ecademy is much more sophisticated and more business related than the other known social networking sites. Ecademy members benefit from the interactions they create with other members both on and offline. Many features in this network make the „stay“ there comfortable:
groups, boardrooms (only for Blackstar members), possibilities of blogging, starting polls, and at last special events add to the appeal of this network.
Ecademy is seeking to help their members to recognize the right activities to gain to success and business and to guide their members in an adequate way.
Ecademy recommends to join other networks
Ecademy highly recommends their user to join other networks and link these with ecademy. The ecademy members are advised to share their knowledge and experience with other networks. Ecademy itself was always very engaged in linking the user profiles of other networks. Ecademy likes it when their members are highly engaged in other networks.
How does the new scoring system in ecademy function?
As already said 20 different measures of activity are integrated in this scoring system.
The new scoring system is not only the measure of engagement of a user on ecademy and in other networks but also the engagement with the users by others. This score delivers a good measure of the depth of relationship in which a user with his audience is. Also the engagement in groups or events on ecademy can be measured with the new system.
According to William Buist, the developer of this scoring system, the scores are designed to give the ecademy users a more immediate form of feedback on their own business and activities online. William Buist explains a rising score of an ecademy user with an upcoming business benefit in the following months. Ecademy announces daily updates of its new scoring system, for that the members have their social feedback every day.
How can a user influence his own score on ecademy?
The main focus is on the user profile – here the keywords (especially the so called 50 words in ecademy) must be fitting and well worked. The better the keywords are the better the ranking can be (here is the accent on „can“).
Another good advice can be that an ecademy user should be present in other networks – overall activity is always good.
Exact statements and proposals cannot be made because the system is too young and has to be obeyed by the responsible people.
Ecademy – innovations par excellence
But this will not be the last innovation as William Buist said. Ecademy plans the development of tools to enable people to find each other more easily, to search for supplier and partners.

In den folgenden Wochen genoss ich das regelmäßige Bloggen und Tätigsein im Netzwerk, hatte fleissigen Kontakt zu den Mitgliedern und man liebte mein Engagement und meine Blogs sehr.
Wie es das Schicksal wollte, war ich durch die Presseerklärung, mein Engagement und das Engagement der Mitglieder mit mir, sowie der zum Ranking zählenden Netzwerke, innerhalb weniger Wochen auf Platz 1 im Ecademy Ranking – unter 600.000 Mitgliedern!
Ich konnte meinen Erfolg zuerst kaum glauben und glaubte zu träumen.
Ich hielt diese Position über mehrere Wochen inne und im Jahr darauf, als ich wieder ins Netzwerk (nach Austritt) zurückkehrte, schnellte ich innerhalb kurzer Zeit wieder auf Platz 1.
Das machte mich dann sprachlos!
